What is Orion?
Orion is a next-generation software developed entirely by Lonati, designed to simplify, accelerate and improve the article programming process for hosiery production. It introduces an intuitive and guided programming experience that reduces the technical barrier for operators and shortens development cycles for new styles and collections. In addition to the standard programming tools, Orion offers an optional plugin called Orion 3D, which enables real-time 3D rendering of the hosiery article. This feature allows manufacturers and designers to visualize a virtual sample before producing any physical prototype, drastically reducing both time-to-market and waste of yarn and materials.

Orion offers a series of intelligent automatic features, such as automatic pixel reduction in imported images, significantly speeding up program setup compared to the previous Digraph system. At the same time, Orion maintains full flexibility of intervention and allows the user to modify or customize the proposed parameters to optimize creative and technical control.

Thanks to the compatibility between ORION and the programming software developed and distributed by Lonati, and APEXFiz®, the design software created by Shima Seiki, the dependence on traditional physical sample creation processes is overcome, with no more wasted resources and labor, costs associated with production processes and materials, and delays due to the time it takes to get to market.
