The Lonati Foundation, set up in 2002 by the brothers Ettore, Fausto and Tiberio, aims to honour the memory and works of their mother Adele and father Cav. Francesco Lonati, a famous entrepreneur from Brescia who was a world leader in the manufacture of hosiery machines. The Lonati Foundation purposes are to encourage and increase education and activity in the technical-scientific field, particularly in the textile sector; support initiatives for training, education, culture, art and solidarity; promote socially useful initiatives, especially those aimed at the elderly and children. Since its very beginning, the Lonati Foundation has made numerous and significant contributions to a large number of organisations and institutions.
The activity
The Lonati Foundation promotes solidarity initiatives and concrete projects supporting education, culture, scientific research, as well as healthcare and social assistance. Particular attention is dedicated to children, young people, and the elderly, through initiatives that foster inclusion, growth, and well-being. It is a constant commitment that brings together institutional values, cultural development, and responsibility towards the community.

Francesco Lonati and his wife Adele shared growth and success, in their family and in the company, finding in participation with others and in the traditions of their land the reason to believe in seriousness, commitment, work and the search for a better tomorrow for all. The Lonati Foundation operates based on this philosophy of supportive development by investing both in technical-secondary education for the textile sector (their sector of reference) and in charitable activities of solidarity and assistance, paying particular attention to children and the elderly.

In the public, private and university health sector, it makes significant investments in research, prevention and treatment of serious diseases. For the Lonati Foundation, respect for the elderly is also an unmissable duty and must be safeguarded with constant supportive investments, as well as for the young and very young, intervening with education and vocational training activities, prevention and information, funding organisations that deal with the care, fostering and protection of minors.
